Police Seek Witnesses Following Damage To Vehicle

Police are looking for witnesses after a police vehicle was deliberately damaged on Friday Night.

Police were called to Fyshwick, after reports of hooning and burnouts after a group was moved on from Hume earlier in the night.

A white Holden Commodore was observed doing burnouts on Canberra Avenue and as police vehicles moved to get near the Commodore, a large group deliberately blocked the road.

People then allegedly damaged the police vehicle including throwing a star-picket, which lodged in the roof-racks of the vehicle.

The Commodore was later seized by police.

Anyone who can assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.  Please quote 7049860.
