Concerns have been raised – nightclubs across the A.C.T. could shut their doors because of skyrocketing insurance fees.

In one case example, the owner of a Canberra nightclub says HIS insurance fees have almost doubled in a four year period. And it’s the insurance that’s the biggest cost to his venue.

It comes amid claims, insurers are in the business of making money… and GONE are the days when they hand out cheques.

A question mark’s been placed on the insurance market and the lack of legislated caps on payouts.

Also, not having a threshold for claims.

Now comes the concern, Canberra’s pubs and bars will close within the next two years because of skyrocketing insurance costs.
