Property Market Could Be Heading In Favour Of Buyers

There are signs the property market in the Capital is cooling, after 18 strong months of seller conditions.

Canberra’s auction clearance rates have noticeably fallen in the first half of this year, compared to the same period last year when almost every home taken to auction sold under the hammer.

Corelogic’s Research Director Tim Lawless says later this year we might see a buyer’s market.

We’re certainly seeing more stock in the market, prices are starting to come down a little bit and homes are taking a bit longer to sell,” Mr Lawless said.

“It’s more of a balanced market, maybe give it a few months and we might see that buyers are back in the driver’s seat.”
