There could be a major shake up of supermarkets across the A.C.T. if the member for Hume gets his way.

Angus Taylor has introduced a bill in the House of Representatives – putting Canberra’s major retailers on notice.

The document gives the courts the power to force the break up of supermarkets and hardware businesses.
Mr Taylor says competition is far better than the work of a regulator, in Canberra.

The coalition claims the Labor government has failed on competition policy

The move comes at The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission takes Woolworths and Coles to court – over allegations their discount campaigns misled shoppers.
