The ACT Government wants the Commonwealth to consider a new centre of excellence be built at CIT Fyshwick as part of a major investment in renewable energy skills.
If successful, the proposal, would expand CIT’s Electric Vehicle Training Centre to train more EV automotive technicians- and support the electrification of the economy.
Funding would also support the feasibility of a broader Future Energy Skills Hub at CIT – which the Government says will incorporate the centre of excellence, and support expansion of training in electrotechnology.
New modelling has found – nearly 13-hundred additional electricians – and 270 more electrical engineers will be needed in the ACT- before 2045 .
