Health authorities in New South Wales are disputing claims that abortions have been banned at Queanbeyan Hospital.

The claim was made last week by the A.B.C. which reported on a leaked email – revealing, the hospital had stopped offering surgical terminations… because there’s no supporting framework at the facility.

A woman, who was scheduled – to undertake the procedure, was told it was not available on the day it was due to happen.

Now comes a statement from the Southern NSW local Health District, that the woman was turned away, due to confusion over information about the patient’s condition…. and that abortions have been available – and continue to be available.

However, few procedures were performed at Queanbeyan Hospital over the past few months.
