Questions Over Canberra South Election Pledge

Share:

The Territory Opposition has taken a swipe at the Chief Minister’s pre-election pledge of additional funding for parks, playgrounds and transport in Canberra’s south.

Liberal MLA for Brindabella Mark Parton has slammed ACT Labor’s announcement – which he says is contingent on winning the October election.

Mr Parton says, after ignoring Tuggeranong residents for over two decades, Andrew Barr is now trying to pretend he and his government will provide the region with some basic services that have long been neglected.

These include, six playgrounds being replaced, an upgrade of sporting facilities and a new rapid bus service between Lanyon and Civic.

MR PARTON says it’s laughable.. and nobody will believe a single word of it.
