A rally’s been organised for late next week to protest against massive cut-backs at the University of Canberra.

The university recently announced, it needed to axe 200 staffing positions, with the Vice-Chancellor acknowledging, the Uni had been spending beyond its means… and was putting itself in an unsustainable position.

The National Tertiary Education Union  has since called on the A.C.T.’s legislative Assembly to hold an inquiry into the University’s governance.

It’s also called for a Federal Parliamentary probe.

The union’s also organised a rally, to be held Thursday November 7th at 12:30 in the afternoon, at the University of Canberra Concourse.
