Rare Flower

One of nature’s rarest and most pungent displays is taking place at Canberra’s National Botanic Gardens.
Canberra’s botanic gardens have announced their CORPSE FLOWER is now blooming for the first time in 10 years.
Minister for Environment and Water Tanya Plibersek says the blooming of this amazing plant is a great way to share the garden’s efforts to protect endangered species and support global conservation.
This species produces an intense smell of rotting meat from the flower’s bloom, it typically take seven to ten years to bloom for the first time … while flowering usually only lasts between 24 to 48 hours.
