Rental affordability slightly improves in the Capital

Canberra’s rental affordability has stabilised but is still pushing low-income households out of the market.

The latest Rental Affordability Index shows many areas across the central city and inner suburbs have gone from being unaffordable to moderately unaffordable over the past 12 months.

Tuggeranong and Woden also remain moderately unaffordable for the average household.

Adrian Pisarski from National Shelter says Canberra remains one of the most expensive city’s in the country to rent.
