A new report has found, Canberrans believe the light rail network is well-designed… and safe.

The study from Monash University was funded by an A.C.T. Road Safety grant.

Surveyed residents in Canberra returned a high level of confidence in the design of light rail…

Respondents believed there were enough signs, road markings and lighting to keep people safe.

Since its operational beginnings, there’ve been 18 crashes….

• the report DID show an underlining concern of behaviour by pedestrians and other motorists around light rail, but safety campaigns were well recognised.
