Canberrans can now stand-up to enjoy a drink at the pub and large gatherings can increase to a maximum of 500 people, as COVID-19 rules relaxed from 9am today.

The changes come into effect as the ACT marks three-weeks without a new COVID-19 infection.

Chair of Canberra Community Clubs Athol Chalmers says for some small clubs there will be no change.

The one person per four square metre rule still applies for indoor spaces.
