The report card has been released looking at the December rankings of on-time performances and cancellations involving Australian airlines
It’s great news for REX which operates flights between Canberra and Melbourne, after ditching its Canberra Sydney service.
Rex has topped the rankings of Australian airlines with 70 percent of flights on time. Point six were cancelled.
There’s been an improvement in services provided by Qantas.
The Flying Kangaroo saw just 2.7 percent of their services being cancelled.
But there were turbulent times for Virgin which had a chaotic Christmas – 7.7 percent of flights were scrapped and only 53 percent touched down on time.
Virgin blamed bad weather.
New entrant Bonza saw its teething problems, due to regulatory delays which led to one in five flights being cancelled.
In an earlier statement, Bonza was hopeful of turning things around in 2024 with its fleet of 737 jets now in operation.
