REX – Reminders

Share:

The impact involving the collapse of REX Airlines remains an issue for Canberrans.

From travel plans to frequent flyer benefits,  the airline’s future remains a major hurdle for those in the A.C.T.

FLIGHTS:

Since the July appointment of Administrators,  REX has suspended all services in and out of the national capital.

The 737 Jet service between Canberra and Melbourne stopped.

Earlier,  REX pulled out of the Canberra Sydney SAAB schedule,  taking aim at increased fees in Sydney and competition from Jetstar.

REX continues to fly to regional destinations using its fleet of SAAB aircraft.

If this is your flight plan,  you’ll need to fly another airline to meet up with the REX flights.

FREQUENT FLYER PROGRAM

Membership remains open.   You can still earn points into the system.  However, members won’t be able to use points for flight rewards during the administration period.

REFUNDS/ALTERNATIVE SERVICES

REX isn’t offering any refunds for cancelled services.   Alternative arrangements were established with other airlines but the deadline to accept the alternatives has passed.   All tickets on cancelled services are now void and as such,  you may be considered a creditor.   You’re entitled to submit a claim to the administration via email:  rex.creditors@au.ey.com with details including your name and contact information.

A variety of potential outcomes under administration have been raised,  including a complete shutdown,  a partial continuation of services,  as well as the future of the airline’s management
