Figures show vandals caused more than 400-thousand dollars damage to A.C.T. Public schools last year but it’s been difficult for police to track down the culprits.

The job of Investigators has been made difficult without the help of CCTV Footage.

There are no cameras… and the A.C.T. Education Directorate does not support the idea of installing CCTV in schools, due to potential breaches of privacy.

Today, there are new varieties of systems that can over-ride those concerns.

The directorate’s looking at other security measures while it may still consider the use of CCTV in the future.
