ACT SES volunteers have been called in to help police check on people in quarantine across Canberra.

Over the coming days, people in quarantine will receive a text message asking them to call police assistance on 131 444.

Canberrans returning home from Greater Brisbane, Greater Sydney the Central Coast and Wollongong must continue to declare their travel and self-isolate for 14 days.

There are now almost three thousand people in quarantine in the ACT.
