Targeted cost of living relief in ACT’s upcoming budget

The ACT Government’s upcoming budget is set to include targeted cost of living relief through an expanded food support and a new housing crisis support fund.

Part of the $7.4 million package will go towards providing additional funding for food relief services to support increased demand, to help keep supplies steady and ensure support is available.

Assistance is also set to be provided to low-income households experiencing rental stress thanks to a new $5.2 million Housing Crisis Support fund, which is expected to support over 3300 Canberrans through crisis support payments and rental subsidies.
