Canberrans are being warned about a new tax impersonation scam.

As the June 30 end of tax year draws closer, the tax office says a new scam has started doing the rounds.

It involves a text message, that looks legitimate… designed to catch you off guard first thing in the morning, hoping you’ll have a momentary lapse of judgement… and you’ll automaticaly click on the link provided.

The suggestion: contact the A.T.O. Or your own MY GOV link, but never use the information or links in the text.
