A man will face court today, for allegedly stealing a taxi at knifepoint – in the centre of Canberra.
Police say the man got into the taxi on Bunda Street around 2 o’clock on Sunday morning – before threatening the driver with a knife.
The driver got out of the car, and called police, before the 39-year-old man led officers on a dangerous chase.
Police say he was speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road.
The Ngunnawal man was arrested in Whitlam and is facing driving and knife offences.
