A 15 year old boy’s been sentenced to two years jail, after admitting responsibility for the deaths of two teenagers, in a crash on the Barton Highway.

The crash occurred in January 2024.

In court, The 15 year old admitted to culpable driving causing death… but because of his age, he can’t be identified.

Those killed were passengers in the stolen vehicle that ran a red light, and collided with an on-coming vehicle.

One of the victim’s parents – telling media, it’s not justice… and the laws for dangerous driving need to change.

The teen is set to be released in September next year, to be followed by community service.
