ACT Policing say they continue to be baffled by the reckless and dangerous speeding behaviour by some Canberra drivers.

Police say this year they’ve already issued more speeding infringements than all of 2019, with more than 4000 notices handed out.

In one recent incident, a silver Holden Sedan and a Black Holden Sedan were detected travelling at 135km/hr in a 60 zone, both vehicles appeared to be racing one another.

Both drivers aged 17 were fined nearly $2500 and lost 9 demerit points each.

Detective Inspector Marcus Boorman says he baffled these young drivers thought this kind of reckless behaviour was acceptable.
