A 21 year old Canberra man has escaped jail time after appearing in court, charged with threatening to kill his ex-partner’s father.
The drama occurred at a football match last August that his ex-partner’s family attended…
The man demanded her mobile phone …. and later slashed the family’s car tyre.
He then threatened the family with a knife… and threatened to use it on the father’s neck.
He was taken away after security and bystanders intervened.
In the A.C.T. Supreme Court, the man was sentenced to 18 months jail – wholly suspended upon entering into a good behaviour order for two years.
