Three 14-year-old boys, including one who was subject to bail conditions, were arrested last night in separate incidents involving alleged knife possession in Braddon and Oxley.

About 6.40pm on Wednesday April 15, police received reports of a young person in Braddon wearing a balaclava and allegedly in possession of a knife, later finding the boy on Mort Street.

Police searched the boy and located a knife concealed in his clothing, along with gloves and a face covering.

He was arrested and charged with possessing a knife without a reasonable excuse and is expected to appear before the ACT Childrens Court at a later date.

In a separate incident about 10pm, police received a report of a disturbance in Oxley.

It is alleged two 14‑year‑old boys, one subject to bail conditions, called out to a man who was running in the area and threw a glass bottle at him.

A short time later, the man returned to the address with two relatives to enquire about the alleged assault and during this interaction, the two boys allegedly threatened the group with knives.

Police attended the address shortly afterwards and arrested both youths.

They are each expected to appear before the ACT Childrens Court today, charged with possessing an offensive weapon.
