The ACT ESA has received at least 66 calls for help following yesterday’s flash storm.

The storm brought wind gusts of up to 90 kilometres per hour – toppling trees and powerlines and causing roof damage.

Canberrans rushed to get their cars undercover, but some vehicles couldn’t be saved from falling trees, including one that was crushed in Braddon.

EVO Energy also reported a number of power outages across the capital.
