The First Nations Party has unveiled its latest pledge ahead of the October election.
If the party wins the ACT Election in eight weeks time, it will abolish the Australia Day public holiday in the capital.
Party leader Paul Girrawah House says residents will be compensated, by getting three public holidays at other times of the year, which will be decided by a survey and ballot of residents.
Some options for alternate holidays include Federation Day, Winter Solstice, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.
Mr House says most people are aware of the hurt that Australia Day causes to Indigenous People, which is why the party wants it abolished.
