Two Teens Face Heavy Punishment For Speeding


Police have fined and suspended the license of two teenagers after they were detected speeding on the weekend.

About 6.40 on Saturday evening  police detected a driver travelling at 118km/h in the 80-km/h zone on Horse Park Drive, near the Federal Highway.

The driver, a 17-year-old provisional licence holder from Gundaroo, NSW, was fined $700 and four demerit points, suspending her right to drive in the ACT for four months.

On Sunday afternoon, at about 5.35pm police in an unmarked vehicle detected a motorcyclist riding at 131km/h in the 80km/h zone on Cotter Road, Stromlo.

The 19-year-old provisional licence holder from Fadden was fined $1841 fine and six demerit points. His licence will be suspended for at least three months.
