Vaccine Rollout Hinges On Supply

With the next phase of the vaccine rollout to begin next week, the ACT Government is still unsure about how many Astrazeneca doses it will receive.

Phase 1B of the vaccine rollout is set to start on Monday, including all Australians aged 70.

If there is enough supply of the Astrazeneca doses from the Federal Government, up to 6,000 Canberrans could be vaccinated weekly.

Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith says the government is waiting to get confirmation from the Commonwealth on what the supply of the vaccines is going to be over the coming weeks.

There is no issue with the supply of second doses of the Pfizer vaccine, which thousands of Canberrans have already received.
