It’s all systems GO for a 300 megawatt battery – proposed for West Belconnen.

The 375-million dollar facility – to be known as “THE TERRITORY BATTERY” has received ACT planning approval.

That’s despite concerns about its impact – on native woodland and grassland.

The site was chosen because it allows for direct connection to a nearby sub-station, without the need for transmission lines..

The project will see 244 stand-alone battery packs and inverter stations being established…
