A 51-year-old man remains under police guard after a woman was killed at a home in O’Connor yesterday morning.

About 8:45am yesterday, police and emergency services were called to a house on Dryandra Street in O’Connor following reports a man had allegedly stabbed a relative with a knife.

ACT Ambulance Service paramedics treated the woman at the scene for critical injuries before transporting her to hospital. Sadly, she was declared deceased during transportation.

Another man, who was also a resident of the home, was transported to hospital for injuries he sustained during the incident.

The 51-year-old man was arrested at the scene and transported to hospital where he remains under police guard.

Enquiries into the incident are continuing and charges are expected to be laid at a later date.
