A 70-year-old woman has died following a house fire in Kambah.

At around 7.45 pm last night, ACT Policing assisted ACT Fire and Rescue in responding to reports of a house fire in Kambah.

Crews located two people inside the home at the time of the fire.

A 70-year-old woman died inside the house, while a 74-year-old man was treated by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics and conveyed to hospital.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, but Police say there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
