We could be waiting a while before the High Court makes a decision on a challenge from the Russian Embassy over the use of land at Yarralumla.

The block is just 300 metres from Parliament House.

The Russian Federation had the lease on the land, but it was terminated by the National Capital Authority in 2022…. citing a “use it lose it” regulation.

While THAT was found to be invalid… The Commonwealth used Federal legislation, to declare the land could not be used due to national security advise.

Earlier this month, the Russian Federation appealed in the High Court – which NOW says, it’ll make a determination at a later date.
