The YWCA Canberra has welcomed a recent announcement by the Federal Government, of a billion dollar early education fund.

The promise by Labor, made in early December, would be implemented – if they return to power year.

According to the government, it will help build and expand childcare centres across the country, – and give all parents access to three days a week of early childhood education.

The YWCA claims it will help address systemic barriers preventing families from accessing early childhood education.

YWCA Canberra currently operates seven early learning centres in the ACT and surrounding regions.
