A young man has become the ACT’s first road fatality of the year, after a Hyundai Getz collided with a concrete pumping truck on William Hovell Drive.

Police responded to calls just after 7am.

Acting Inspector Travis Mills says the Major Collision Team is still investigating the scene.

“What I can tell you, the early inquiries suggest, the blue Hyundai Getz crossed onto the incorrect side of the road, and it had a head on collision with the concrete truck,” Inspector Mills said.
