No patients or staff were injured during a fire at Calvary Hospital

A partial evacuation took place in parts of the hospital, as Emergency Services undertook air quality assessments, after a fire alarm was triggered not long after midday.

Patients evacuated and those who remained in the ward setting have continued to receive the care and treatment they require.

The fire saw people asked to attend Calvary only in extreme health emergencies, and Canberra Hospital in case of emergency, with services placed on bypass in the meantime.
