Barnaby Joyce is being urged to take leave after last week’s incident in a Canberra street.

Nationals Leader David Littleproud has spoken to Barnaby Joyce over the incident

Last week Mr Joyce was filmed lying on a Canberra footpath along Lonsdale street, swearing on his phone.

He says his behaviour was caused by drinking alcohol while on prescription drugs.

Mr Littleproud says Mr Joyce needs to take time out.
