Canberra Bucks the Weather Trend

It seems Canberra’s been bucking the recent weather trend of other jurisdictions.

While Summer in the A.C.T. was hot – it’s actually been cooler than average for the season.

That’s according to forecasters… who’ve also confirmed, the entire country has experienced its third hottest summer on record, since observations began in 1910.

The Weather bureau says at Canberra Airport, the mean daily maximum temperature was 27.4 degrees – one degree below the long-term average.

Canberra’s hottest day was in early December, reaching 34.8 degrees… while the wettest day of summer was in mid January.

Forecasters don’t have answer on how WE beat the heat… saying, it was just one of those quirky things”.
