Canberra United has been saved – thanks to a financial lifelien from the A.C.T. Government.
It’s a funding increase.
The Government has agreed to increase funding by 80 percent to help cover the team’s costs – and save it from the A-League scrap heap.
Sports Minister YVETTE BERRY has confirmed – an additional 200-thousand dollars will be made as a one of payment for next season.
That take the Government’s financial contribution to 450-thousand dollars
without additional funding, there were concerns, Canberra’s Mens and Womens A-League teams would not be viable beyond this season.
