Drink Driving Crackdown

Share:

The ACT is getting tough on low-range drink drivers.

The Territory will follow other jurisdictions, with a low-range drink driver facing an automatic six-month license suspension, and a  fine of $800.

Transport Minister Chris Steel says the new legislation would help free up court time, and prevent police from attending for low-range offences.

Under the current legislation, low range first time offenders can argue for leniency in court.
