Canberra social housing residents have saved $8.6 million dollars on energy bills since 2023, thanks to the energy efficient upgrades delivered by the ACT Government.

Over 4600 public and community housing properties have now received electrification and ceiling insulation upgrades, resulting in an average household saving of more than $1800 since 2023.

The rollout of the electrification program delivered by the ACT Government is now around 70 per-cent complete, meaning the commitment to electrify all feasible social housing properties by 2030 is ahead of schedule.

The next phase of work will see rooftop solar and batteries installed on at least 7,500 Housing ACT properties and connecting them through a Virtual Power Plant.
