ACT Police are seeking witnesses, following the detonation of an explosive device in Holder yesterday morning.

At around 5am, members of the public reported an explosion coming from the direction of the Holder Oval.

Later that morning, someone discovered a suspicious item on the oval, and alerted police, who assessed the home-made explosive.

After being examined by the AFP Bomb Team, it was deemed not dangerous, with the item being sezied for examination.

Anyone that saw suspicious activity near the oval at 5am that morning, or that knows information about the device is urged to contact CrimeStoppers.
