The government’s ban of new gas connections in the ACT comes into effect this month.

Leeway has been given to development applications lodged before March 20-24, as part of traditional agreements.

There has been some concern from certain businesses that rely on gas, with some stating the alternative electric conduction options, don’t work for them.

ACT Minister for Emissions Reductions Shane Rattenbury says the government wants people to plan in advance.
