Happier Views on Canberra’s Animal Pound

There’s a new “leash” on life at Canberra’s animal pound

Not only is there a new leader but walk-in adoptions have returned  and volunteer numbers have increased at Domestic Animal Services.

Last September, Chris Mooney took on the role as the facility’s new senior director.

He says he wants the good work of staff to be recognised with almost 100 percent of animals in the pound being re-homed.

It dispels perceptions that most dogs were put down.

One staffer is quoted as saying, “there are no time limits.. the Service takes the time to find the right owner”.
