Canberrans are being advised to avoid Cowlishaw Street and Reed Street in Tuggeranong, with firefighters on scene at a fire at the KFC.

Videos posted to social media showed the structure on fire, with thick smoke impacting the nearby area.

Both roads in have been closed until further notice
