Belconnen soccer players had their game disrupted on Saturday, after a group of motorbike riders tore through the middle of a junior match in Hawker.

During a game at 1.45 on Saturday afternoon, a group of 12 to 15 riders on motorbikes and converted bikes rode directly through a game in play, before entering and severely damaging another field.

Belsouth Football Club taking to social media, saying the field was already waterlogged and the damage caused has now left it unsafe to play on.

The club are calling for any footage of the incident to be handed in, saying they would genuinely like to speak with those involved and find a way to coexist respectfully as part of the local community.

The damage is expected to cause major troubles for the volunteer run club, which has about 900 players training across the grounds each week.
