A 40-year-old man on parole has been charged with drug trafficking after he was stopped by police early this morning.

About 3am today, City Station officers were conducting mobile patrols in Braddon when they saw a man on an e-scooter without a helmet.

After asking the rider to stop and the rider refusing to do so, they detained him.

A search of his possessions located multiple small clip seal bags that contained material that has presumptively tested positive as heroin and methylamphetamine.

He was subsequently charged with breaching his parole, drug trafficking and failing to wear a helmet while on a mobility device. The man will face court today.
