The opposition is accusing the government of quietly cutting bus services just two weeks before Christmas.

Shadow Transport Minister Mark Parton says there is a significant reduction in about a dozen services.

The Canberra Liberals believe the cuts are due to the non-arrival of new buses, and the increased travel times associated with Light Rail roadworks in the city.
