Devastated family have spent the night by the bedside of 95-year-old great grandmother.

She was reportedly tasered by police in her Cooma nursing home on Wednesday.

It’s being reported she was standing near her walker, holding a kitchen knife when worried staff called police, the taser causing the 95-year-old to fall to the ground and suffer critical injuries.

New South Wales Police has launched a critical investigation into the incident, including exactly why and how it occurred.
