Queanbeyan teachers are expected to hold a rally at 7:30 this morning to protest against a wage cuts.
They plan to stage their action at midday today, outside the office of the Monaro M.P.
The teachers are protesting against a new state based award in New South Wales which they say is a pay cut, involving a three-year salary which includes a capped two-and-a-half percent pay-rise.
NSW Teachers Federation president Angelo Gavrielatos says 60 per cent of teachers want to leave in the next five years because of “crippling” workloads and “uncompetitive” salaries.
