Labor has welcomed the governments decision to hold a royal commission into veteran and serving Defence member suicides.

The opposition have declared they are ready to work with the government in a bipartisan way, despite criticising the time it has taken for the commission to come about.

Labor Member for Eden-Monaro Kristy McBain says Labor has been calling for a royal commission since 2019.
