Canberra has missed out on plans by Woolworths to expand its so-called “SCAN AND GO” trolley shopping method at A.C.T. supermarkets.

The “Scan and go” method is for shoppers who electronically pay for their goods in the aisle instead of the checkout.

It was introduced last year at 10 New South Wales based supermarkets.

Woolworths has announced expansion plans for Queensland and Victoria, but there’s no mention of Canberra.

Woolworths360 managing director Rob McCartney says the initial rollout of the Scan&Go trolleys has proved to be a success, prompting the rollout interstate.

So-far there’s no word when the A.C.T. will be included.
